New to web design, what are some good Free sites to use? Do I need any other software?

I am wanting to make a web site for my new business. But have no clue where to start or begin. I would love it if someone could give me some sound advice on what and where I could begin. I make gourmet dog treats and I am just wanting a build a simple site to sell my treats. I don't want anything dorky. I want to build something that looks professional and that would make people want to come back to my site.

do not use free hosts for a business. free hosts are offline alot.
