Is it possible for "adult sites" to pop up on a web list when sites like My Space are accessed?

We are noticing that certain sites are "popping up" on our computers - and no one is claiming to have accessed them on their own. They aren't "popping up" as pop-ups; rather they are being listed in the pull down section and history section as if someone was typing in their web addresses.

Sounds fishy to me. If they are in the history section, then that means the sites have been accessed. Computers don't lie LOL. Or have you thought about the possibily of adware and/or spyware infecting your computer?
