Is there a free web site that can help my son with his spelling words?

My son struggles each week with his spelling words, he tries so hard and gets very upset when he fails to the point of calling himself stupid. He is in the first grade, and I was wanting to know if there was a way to enter his spelling words and practice. All the web sites I have been too enter their own words so that does not help him at all.

not that i'm aware of. but he has something better than a computer program - he has a parent who cares.
You should be the computer. Try to make games surrounding his spelling words. offer incentives and let him know you are in this together - he's not stupid because you're right there with him helping him figure it all out.

you may want to talk with his teachers to make sure his difficulty with spelling is "normal" and that he is not showing signs of dyslexia or other learning disorders.
